About Myself
For years I suffered with digestive problems, sinus infections, chest infections, sore throat, muscle pains. I just kept getting one thing after another. My immune system was very poor that I would pick up any bug that was out there. I would take anti-biotic after anti-biotic only to get well for a short time and fall sick again. Even taking supplements didn’t help me stay healthy.
One day I decided I had enough and I needed to look into what would make a real difference to my health. I decided to go for a massage to a local lady and see if she could give me any advice. While there she practiced Reiki on me, told me to drink water, rest and see how I felt after the session. I felt something change but didn’t know exactly what so I went again the following week. More improvement in how I felt in myself and my muscles were relaxing. I had a few more sessions and knew this was the start of something good.
Shortly after being with her a message popped up on my facebook page for Reiki training so I decided to attend the course. During the training I realised the energy I was feeling during the treatments was an energy I felt all through my teenage years. Since I discovered Reiki I know it is what I am meant to be working at. I practice Reiki on myself every day to keep my body healthy and my energy levels up and have never looked back. I am now a qualified Reiki Master/Teacher and enjoy helping others in there healing.

They may experience movement around the area where the hands are placed as if the muscles were being massaged. All or some of the above may be experienced on different parts of the body during the same session. It is also common for a person to feel none of the above except being calm and relaxed.

It is difficult to say what any individual will experience as it is different for everyone. Most clients feel very relaxed and serene after the session. However, when energies or toxins in the body have shifted a feeling of fatigue will present itself. It may be half an hour to several days before these symptoms may arise. They will only last for a short period to a few day after which a feeling of well-being is presented. Drinking plenty of water and resting the body will assist in shifting these energies and toxins.
History of Reiki
Reiki dates back hundreds of years with little written information until the late 1800’s. The information was handed down orally from teacher to student. The traditional story of Reiki is first accredited to Dr. Mikao Usui in the 1800’s. While teaching his students he was challenged to show them how to heal. Realising he could not teach his students any techniques in healing he set on a quest to discover how this was achieved. Dr. Usui studied many religons i.e. Buddism,Christianity, and learned many different languages in his quest to understand what techniques had been used. On returning to Japan he spent time in a Zen monastery where he found the texts describing the healing formulas but not how they worked. Dr. Usui believed that meditation would bring him the answers he was looking for. After a period of three weeks the symbols and energy finally appeared to him and he set-up a practice to go about healing people in Japan. Before his death, in 1930, Dr. Usui shared his knowledge and teachings with Dr. Chujiro Hayashi, a retired naval officer. Dr. Hayashi opened a healing clinic in Tokyo and continued to heal with Reiki and train others in the practice of Reiki . A woman from Hawaii, Hawayo Takata (1900-80) , visiting Japan sought help in Dr. Hayashi’s clinic in 1935. Takata was very ill and was healed within four months of attending the clinic. She eventually trained in Reiki and brought Reiki back to Hawaii and later mainland America and Canada. By the time of her death in 1980 Takata had trained 22 Reiki Masters and it is these Masters that have brought Reiki to Europe.
